Just 30 miles from the Hoover Dam in Nevada is the bustling city of Las Vegas. My Route 66 guidebook lists it as a must-see detour and calls Vegas the biggest, brightest, and brazenest boomtown in the history of the world. I wanted to see the bright lights along the Las Vegas Strip in person, but it was definitely a challenge doing it with a toddler and a dog!
