Navajo County Museum 7/10/2013

I stopped by the Navajo County Museum in Holbrook, Arizona to get a tour of the old county jail, which opened its cell doors in 1898 and finally shut down in 1976. The old jail walls are covered with graffiti from inmates who stayed there...one of the most famous inmates was Apache leader, Geronimo, who actually drew a self-portrait on his cell wall. One jail cell was closed to the public because it is believed to be haunted by the ghost of Mary, a former inmate who hung herself inside that jail cell.
