I visited one of the true reminders of what the old roads on Route 66 looked like back in the day. The Rock Creek Bridge located near the town of Sapulpa, Oklahoma is closed to traffic, but is still a snapshot of the original Mother Road from the 1920s. It is only 120 feet long and 12 feet wide, and in the background is an old, abandoned drive-in movie theater that shut down when this part of Route 66 closed. And who better to share this historical visit with than my 2 friends from Austria whom I met at the beginning of my Route 66 journey -- Bianca and Markus. I think they're following me. LOL!
