There are stretches of Route 66 that cars rarely travel on anymore, whether it's part of an old farm road, or a street that runs through an old neighborhood, or just a piece of the old highway that has been bypassed by new roads. There are even parts of Route 66 that bypass older parts of Route 66, with signs designating both routes for drivers to choose their path. I decided to take the road less traveled and drove on such a stretch near the town of Mount Olive, Illinois, and there is still an old Route 66 logo that's painted on the road itself rather than on a sign. So I lived in the moment and posed for my "chillin' out" photo on Route 66 because when am I ever going to get the chance again to lie down in the middle of a highway?! Say cheese! Please don't try this at home!
