Ice Cave 7/9/2013

After our hike up to Bandera Crater, we headed in the completely opposite direction toward the Ice Cave to cool down. This 20-foot thick floor of ice is believed to have formed in the cave 3,400 years ago and was commonly referred to as Nature's Ice Box. The temperature in the cave never gets above 31-degrees, and it is the perfect place to visit on a hot summer day!
