Meteor Crater 7/11/2013

Watch out for flying meteorites in Arizona! Between Winslow and Flagstaff is the giant Meteor Crater, which was formed by a meteorite some 50,000 years ago. The crater is about a mile wide and measures 550-feet deep. I was able to stand right on the rim and view the entire crater, which was simply fascinating! On an interesting historical note, Apollo moonwalkers practiced at Meteor Crater since the crater resembled the surface of the moon.
