I continue to run into my lovely friends, the Bleckert family, from Hamburg, Germany. This time, we all made a stop in Hackberry, Arizona at the Hackerry General Store and took a picture in front of a classic 1957 convertible Corvette, which is the essence of Route 66. After Route 66 was bypassed by the interstate, The Hackberry General Store was the last business in town to shut down in 1978, and Hackberry literally became a ghost town. But the General Store reopened in 1992 as part of the revitalization of Route 66 and remains a popular spot for visitors today.
